My 6 son has started recently his right I stares like day dreaming and his left eye turns out slightly it happens only when he stares. What could this be?

This probably called “Heterophoria”. Heterophoria is misalignment of two eyes when absence of an adequate fusion stimulus. That is, it happens when the person is tired or not concentrate. Small amount of this kind of misalignment could be normal, however, if the amount was too large, the person may need extra effort in fusion than normal person and will feel eye tired easily.
